Q & A with G Hannelius
What was it like filming Den Brother?
It was so much fun! The cast and crew were amazing and me and the other “bumble bee’s” became really great friends on set!
How did you react when you learned you got the role in the movie?
I was very excited! It was my first big role in a movie.
What was the filming process like? How long did you film?
The filming process was so much fun. The director, Mark Taylor, was so sweet and funny and he made everyday on set a blast! We shot the movie in Salt Lake City, Utah and it took 6 weeks to film!
What was your favorite part about working on the movie?
The cast for sure! We all became like family, and even though we were with each other everyday for 6 weeks we NEVER got sick of each other with was really surprising! I also loved Utah. We shot the movie in the winter so it was very snowy and very beautiful. We got to go tubing and roller blading and swimming (indoors of corse!) It was so much fun!
Have you gotten close with any of the cast members since the movie has ended?
We are all very close and still totally in touch. I have gotten especially close with Taylar Hender, who plays Abigail in DEN BROTHER. If your on Twitter you can see we chat with each other…A LOT!
Have you seen the finished product yet?
I have. The cast got to see a screening of it before it came out. It was amazing to see all the hard work we did come into this awesome finished product.
Are you at all like your character in real life?
Yes. We do have some similarities. We are both very outgoing, we both love our friends, and we both are very dedicated to what we love. Emily is dedicated to her bumble bee troop and I am dedicated to my acting and singing.
How does it feel becoming so famous at a young age?
I’m famous? Thanks. Well I guess it just feels special. I am so grateful. I might be on TV now but I’m the same as I ever was.
Do you have fun guest starring on SONNY WITH A CHANCE?
Oh my goodness! I have SO much fun!! I’m always laughing when I’m on the SONNY WITH A CHANCE set! Me and Allisyn Ashley Arm are good friends (even though we are enemy’s on the show) so we are always playing pranks on the other cast members and goofing around. I love SONNY WITH A CHANCE.
Have you ever been out of the country?
I have! I have been to 5 places. Not for anything acting wise unfortunately, but you never know…

Would you ever befriend a fan?
My friends are my fans!
Are you planning on becoming a singer as you grow up or continue acting?
I love singing and acting equally so I’m pursuing both. I’m actually working on a some things with my singing right now so we’ll see what happens.
Do you want to star in your own TV show? Whether it’d be comedy/drama/etc.
I would LOVE to star in my own TV show! I’m definitely more of a comedy girl so I love to have some type of comedy show.
Do you like your real name being Genevieve?
I love the name Genevieve but I grew up with G. Maybe when I get older I’ll change it back to Genevieve but for now, G is stuck!
What are your favorite clothing stores?
I love everything from J-Crew and Bloomingdales, to Old Navy and Claires!
When and how did you decide that you were going to act? And how did you get started in the acting business?
Well when we lived in Maine I did some theater at my school and at the Children’s Theater of Maine. Later on, I stared in MADELINE, as Madeline, and I loved it. My mom suggested that we go out the LA for 3 months. So we came out and I got in the AQUARIUM OF THE PACIFIC commercial. We then did a bunch of other commercials and a sitcom starring Bob Saget called SURVIVING SUBURBIA. DISNEY saw me in the AQUARIUM OF THE PACIFIC commercial and called us. I then got LEO LITTLE’S BIG SHOW which led to 8 episodes of SONNY WITH A CHANCE, 3 episodes of GOOD LUCK CHARLIE, 1 episode of HANNAH MONTANA, and now DEN BROTHER. Now we are living here in LA. Phew!
